Large Pixel · Global Shutter · Designed for Solar Imaging
The ATR428M/C is equipped with the Sony IMX428 monochrome/color CMOS sensor, featuring a 1" format, 4.5μm large pixel size, and a native 12-bit ADC. It offers low noise, high sensitivity, and a global shutter supporting high-frame-rate capture. At a resolution of 1600×1100, it achieves up to 133.3fps (M) / 133.1fps (C) in 8-bit mode, and approximately 96.1fps (M) / 66.5fps (C) in 12-bit mode, making it ideally suited for solar photography.

Please remember: all ToupTek Astro DSO cooled cameras can only be powered by a 12V3A DC power supply. We recommend using the power adapter that comes with the camera or a lithium-ion battery with stable output of 11–14V. Please do not use power supplies that have falsely stated specifications or unstable outputs to power the camera, as this may affect image capture or even damage the camera.

High Sensitivity
For amateur astrophotographers who image the Sun using solar spectrographs, solar telescopes, and narrowband H-alpha devices like the Quark, the IMX428 sensor offers exceptional sensitivity at the H-alpha line (656.3nm).

DDR3
ATR428M/C is equipped with USB 3.0/2.0 transmission interfaces and a built-in 512MB DDR3 memory buffer. This high-speed cache handles image data, reducing the burden on the computer's transmission system and ensuring stable, rapid data transfer.

Two stage TEC cooling system
The ATR428M/C is equipped with a dual-stage TEC cooling system, which uses a PID algorithm to precisely regulate the cooling temperature for optimal stability and efficiency, achieving temperature stability of ±0.1°C. A controllable electric fan assists heat dissipation. The TEC system can lower the sensor temperature below ambient by up to 35°C during short-exposure shooting, and by up to 45°C during long exposures (≥5 seconds). This high-efficiency cooling significantly suppresses dark current and thermal noise, ensuring stable image quality.

Anti-dew technology
The ATR428M/C features a built-in heating module within the sensor's glass chamber, adjustable via software with four levels of control. This effectively prevents condensation on the CMOS sensor surface and protects against moisture forming on the glass window. It ensures stable performance even in outdoor environments with high humidity and significant temperature fluctuations.

Native 12-bit ADC & High Frame Rate
The ATR428M/C offers a native 12-bit ADC, delivering a stable high dynamic range. In 8-bit ADC mode, the frame rate reaches 133.3fps, enabling rapid recording of solar brightness variations and capturing fine details on the solar disk.
Flexible Gain Modes
The ATR428M/C supports HCG (High Conversion Gain) and LCG (Low Conversion Gain) mode switching. Users can freely choose the appropriate mode to reduce read noise while maintaining outstanding high dynamic range.

Compatible Software
The ATR series deep-sky imaging cooled cameras can be controlled using the native ToupSky software and are also compatible with ASCOM, INDI, and DirectShow SDKs. If you prefer to use third-party software compatible with these SDKs, you can download the necessary drivers from ToupTek Astro's official website and install them into the third-party software.
