HOPE D60 Advanced 5-Element PAPO Optical Design

Driven by a 5-element PAPO design, HOPE D60 eliminates chromatic aberration, distortion, and vignetting. Rigorously verified by optical metrics, it delivers pinpoint stars across full-frame sensors.

With a central RMS spot <1.1 µm and full-frame edge <2.3 µm, HOPE D60 delivers pinpoint star points and near-zero chromatic aberration across the field. Spot diagrams visually confirm this focal plane precision.

How to Adjust Framing and Tilt with the HOPE D60 RotaTilter

View adjustment steps

1.Angle Adjustment:

Loosen the top knob, then rotate the front black adapter ring to adjust the framing angle.

2.Tilt Adjustment:

By turning these screws, the distance between the four corners of the sensor and the telescope's image plane can be finely tuned to achieve an ideal imaging state.

Viewed from the sensor side towards the telescope side:

Counter-clockwise: Sensor moves away from the telescope

Clockwise: Sensor moves closer to the telescope

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to purchase a separate field flattener or calculate complex back-focus?

No. HOPE D60 features an integrated field flattener that provides a flat 44mm full-frame image circle out of the box, requiring only the standard 55mm connection distance.

Is HOPE D60 suitable for beginners in astrophotography?

Yes. Its native flat-field design, standard connection distance, and dual-speed focuser eliminate complex optical adjustments, allowing beginners to achieve professional results easily.

How portable is HOPE D60 for field transport?

With its dew shield fully retracted, the compact optical tube measures just 255mm in length, making it easy to store and pack for mobile field sessions.

Can HOPE D60 be used for daytime terrestrial photography?

Yes. When paired with a DSLR or mirrorless camera, HOPE D60 functions as a high-resolution telephoto lens for both daily terrestrial photography and deep-sky imaging.

Which electronic auto focusers (EAF) are natively supported?

HOPE D60 features native mounting support for popular electronic focusers, including the ToupTek Astro AAF, ZWO EAF, Oasis, and GEMINI focusers.
