When the M48M–M48F 50mm adapter is used together with a ToupTek GS series guide scope, it effectively shortens the optical path, allowing accessories such as a diagonal or filter drawer attached afterward to reach focus.
I purchased this adapter together with a GS-300AR to ensure I always could reach focus with an Uranus-C when combined with an UV/IR-cut filter. It wasn’t strictly necessary, as I /just/ can reach focus without it, but as temperatures change that may not always be the case, so I have no regrets.
