The ATR992M is a scientific-grade SWIR (Short-Wave Infrared) cooled camera designed for deep-sky imaging. Featuring high sensitivity, efficient cooling, low noise, and no glow, it is ideal for deep-sky and lunar photography.

ATR992M is equipped with a Sony IMX992 SenSWIR Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs) sensor, covering a broad spectral range from 400nm to 1700nm. This provides excellent non-visible light imaging capabilities, enabling the capture of faint astronomical objects in the short-wave infrared band. The ATR992M incorporates a new GPS module that records exposure start/stop times and related timing information with microsecond precision, generating globally synchronized, accurate timestamps and geolocation data. ATR992M also supports ODM customization.

Please remember: all ToupTek Astro deep cooling cameras can only be powered by DC12V 3A power supply. We recommend using the power adapter that comes with the camera or a lithium-ion battery that can stably output 11-14V. Please do not use power supplies that have falsely stated specifications or unstable outputs to power the camera, as this may affect image capture or even damage the camera.

ATR992M features the Sony IMX992 SenSWIR InGaAs sensor with 400nm-1700nm spectral coverage and a 1/1.4-inch image area. The broad-spectrum response enables both visible and short-wave infrared imaging for faint targets.

Two stage TEC cooling system

The ATR992M's cooling system is a two-stage Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) system, assisted by a controllable electric fan for heat dissipation. The TEC is controlled by a PID algorithm, allowing precise adjustment to the target temperature with a deviation of just 0.1°C and effective cooling up to 30°C below ambient. This ensures consistent image stability and quality even during long exposures.

Native 12-bit ADC

ATR992M outputs a native 12-bit ADC signal. It supports a hardware pixel binning output mode, delivering lower-resolution 12-bit image data after binning. The camera also supports hardware ROI (low-resolution not supported), with smaller ROI sizes enabling higher frame rates.

Zero Amp-Glow

ATR992M captures more light in low-light conditions, with outstanding photosensitivity and fast response flexibility. Its zero amp-glow design ensures clear and artifact-free imaging even during long exposures and at high gain settings.

Anti-dew technology

The ATR992M's sensor glass chamber is equipped with a built-in heating module, controllable via software with four adjustable levels. This effectively prevents condensation on the CMOS sensor and the protective glass window for reliable operation in high humidity and large temperature differentials.

GPS Module

ATR992M is equipped with a GPS module. Its FPGA receives the PPS (Pulse Per Second) signal from the GPS and calibrates the local clock, achieving nanosecond-level global time synchronization and microsecond-precision exposure timestamps for collaborative observations.
