SkyEye62AM(IMX455M)

I ordered the SkyEye62AM with OAG and filter wheel in beginning of December 2025. The camera arrived after Christmas. Shipment to Germany was without any issues. The camera is planned to be used at my astronomy club observatory using a CDK 24.

I installed the filter wheel with the camera and tilt corrector. I tested the setup with 2” Baader Filter and 2” Antlia filter. Previous reviewers described that the 2” Baader filter do not work in the filter wheel. However, I had no issues screwing these in. The filter wheel was operating fine. So, I could not confirm issues using Baader 2” filters. However, the filters (both Baader and Antlia) gave me strong vignetting. In addition, I got strong internal reflections. I contacted ToupTek Support and their response was very quick. They informed me that I would need to remove one additional adapter at the camera. As well they informed me that their ToupTek 2" filters do not show abnormal vignetting.
After removing the additional adapter at the camera, the internal reflections were gone. I purchased a new set of LRGB unmounted 50.4mm round filters from Baader. Now vignetting was almost gone, with only a very minimal light falloff that can easily be fixed with flats or in postprocessing.

I am now using the camera in HCG mode at Gain 100. Cooling is fast and the camera holds the temperature without any issues. As expected with the IMX 455 Mono CMOS Sensor, there is no amp glow and hot/cold pixels are all within standard. Filter wheel works fine and precise.

In conclusion, I can recommend the camera and filter wheel. However, I would budget for 50.4mm unmounted filters. Support from ToupTek was fast and their recommendations were good!
