The camera shows heavy, yet smooth amp glow alongside one X and the adjacent Y side of the sensor. See attached 180s dark frame. It´s not like 183 oder 294 based cameras, which is more restricted to a certain spot like area. The edges drown in amp glow which is really hard to calibrate and post-process as the SNR is significantly low. This eventually leads to heavy cropping limiting the already small FOV even more.
It leaves me with the impression, the ATR432M is more a planetary or solar camera best driven in video mode.
To be fair, the ToupTek guys made me aware of the amp glow but I wanted to see it and experience it myself.
My recommendation to ToupTek would be to list the camera as a planetary camera. It´s definetely not a Deep Sky camera.
My sample of the camera also suffered from a frozen sensor glass when cooling the camera to -10 celsius. Drying the dessicant and cooling over a period of 30 minutes helps.
The customer support is excellent! Big kudos to the ToupTek guys always supporting wherever they can.
