AFW-mini Electronic Filter Wheel
A Miniature Electronic Filter Wheel Designed for Lightweight Astrophotography Setups.
The AFW-mini is compatible with planetary cameras, AstroEye Series multifunction cameras, and deep-sky cameras with smaller sensors. Its compact, lightweight design accommodates five 1.25" astronomical filters and enables fast, precise automatic switching. With no need for repeated disassembly, LRGB, narrowband, and other multi-channel imaging becomes simpler and more efficient, providing a lightweight filter-switching solution for automated astrophotography.
Key Features

Lightweight 340 g Compact Design
Ideal for planetary cameras, AE Series multifunction cameras, and compact deep-sky cameras with smaller sensors.
In planetary, solar, and lunar imaging setups, accessories are typically connected using 1.25-inch or 2-inch nosepieces, where additional weight can easily cause adapters to tilt. The compact AFW-mini minimizes added load while supporting multiple filters.
At just 20 mm thick, it integrates seamlessly into most imaging setups.

Upgraded Support for Smooth Operation
A dual-support structure combining a thrust bearing and a deep-groove ball bearing ensures smooth, stable rotation of the filter carousel. This effectively prevents filter tilt or wobble from affecting image quality.
*Unidirectional rotation is recommended for greater positioning accuracy.
Multiple Adapters for Broad Compatibility
Features a newly designed M42-to-1.25-inch T-mount holder with an insertion stop to prevent inserted accessories from interfering with filter changes.
Includes a 1.25-inch nosepiece and a 16.5 mm-thick M48 female-to-M42 male adapter, providing compatibility with telescope systems using 1.25-inch, 2-inch, or M48 connections.
A complete set of dust caps helps protect your equipment and prevents dust from entering open optical systems.

Enhanced Light Sealing for Uniform Flats
The tightly sealed, light-blocking design prevents stray light from compromising flat-field calibration, ensuring clean and accurate images.

Reliable Performance in Low Temperatures
A high-performance stepper motor and tensioned drive mechanism provide dependable operation even in demanding cold conditions.
Two selectable switching speeds improve load capacity and operating stability in low-temperature environments.
(Standard speed: 6 seconds per revolution; Low speed: 12 seconds per revolution.)
