Full-Frame Sensor for Expansive Fields of View

The 24MP full-frame sensor (6064 × 4040) features a large 43.3mm diagonal, allowing you to capture wide nebulae, galaxies, and star fields in a single frame while maximizing your telescope's imaging potential.

Large 5.94μm Pixels for Superior Light Collection

With a large 5.94μm pixel size, the IMX410C provides greater photon collection capability per pixel, delivering stronger signal, improved sensitivity, and excellent performance for deep-sky imaging. Combined with a peak quantum efficiency (QE) exceeding 80%, the sensor efficiently converts incoming light into image data, allowing astrophotographers to capture faint celestial details with enhanced clarity and lower noise.

High Full Well Capacity and Ultra-Low Noise

With up to 104ke⁻ full well capacity and read noise as low as 0.3e⁻ in HCG mode, the IMX410 delivers exceptional dynamic range, preserving both bright stellar cores and faint background structures.

Is SkyEye Plus Full-Frame & APS-C Camera for Astrophotography Worth it?

Designed to cover a wide range of astrophotography needs, the SkyEye Plus Series offers both Full-Frame and APS-C cameras, giving imagers the flexibility to choose the sensor format that best matches their telescope, imaging targets, and workflow. From wide-field deep-sky imaging to high-resolution capture of faint celestial structures, SkyEye Plus combines advanced sensors, deep cooling, low read noise, and high dynamic range for consistently clean, detailed results. SkyEye Plus is specially engineered for:

Advanced Deep-sky Astrophotographers

Designed for experienced imagers, deep-sky enthusiasts, and remote observatory users who demand high sensitivity, low noise, excellent dynamic range, and reliable performance for demanding imaging projects.

Imagers with High-End Optics & Complete Systems

Whether you're using a compact telescope with an APS-C image circle or a premium optical system designed for full-frame coverage, SkyEye Plus offers the sensor format to match your setup. Full-frame models maximize field of view and optical coverage, while APS-C models provide an excellent balance of resolution, sensitivity, and system compatibility.

Why Choose the SkyEye24AC Plus

512MB DDR3 High-Speed Buffer

Featuring an onboard 512MB DDR3 buffer, the SkyEye Plus series camera ensures stable USB 3.0 data transfer, preventing frame loss and transmission-induced amp-glow. The camera supports digital pixel binning from 1x1 to 8x8 (via stacking or averaging) and hardware pixel binning from 1x1 to 3x3 (via averaging). On-sensor hardware binning provides significantly faster readout speeds and processing efficiency than software binning.

5 USB Ports for Simpler Imaging Setups

The integrated 5-port USB hub (4*USB2.0, 1*USB3.0) allows direct connection of accessories such as filter wheels, guide cameras, and focusers, reducing cable clutter and simplifying setup.

Enlarged Front Window for Improved Illumination

The enlarged front window of the SkyEye Plus full-frame camera improves illumination across the sensor and enhances compatibility with fast optical systems and larger imaging circles.

ATR zero amp-glow imaging performance

Zero Amp-Glow Technology

The SkyEye Plus series (except SkyEye45AC) camera features a specialized zero amp-glow circuit design that maintains a clean, perfectly uniform sensor background across multi-minute long exposures, protecting the faintest details of delicate nebulae.

ATR anti-condensation heating system ATR anti-dew window heater

Anti-Condensation Heating

The SkyEye Plus series optical window features an integrated smart heating system that actively measures ambient temperature and humidity. It automatically applies precise heat to prevent condensation, keeping your optical path crystal clear without introducing disruptive thermal air currents.

ATR two-stage TEC cooling system

Two-Stage TEC Cooling

The camera utilizes a high-performance two-stage Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) system. By achieving a cooling from -35°C to -42°C below ambient*, the SkyEye Plus series camera cools the sensor deeply and consistently, delivering exceptionally quiet background noise levels for long-exposure imaging.

*Note: Cooling performance may vary by model. Please refer to the product manual for detailed specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What power supply does the SkyEye62AM require?

The SkyEye62AM requires a regulated 12V 3A DC power supply for stable imaging and cooling performance.

  • Use the supplied factory power adapter whenever possible.
  • For field use, choose a high-quality lithium-ion battery with a stable 11–14V output.
  • Avoid unstable or falsely rated power supplies, which may interrupt cooling or image capture.
What sensor does the SkyEye62AM use, and is it a full-frame camera?

Yes. The SkyEye62AM uses the Sony IMX455M full-frame monochrome CMOS sensor.

  • Sensor format: 36 × 24mm full frame
  • Resolution: 61MP (9576 × 6388)
  • Pixel size: 3.76μm

The monochrome sensor records incoming light without a Bayer color filter array, supporting high photon efficiency and detailed LRGB or narrowband imaging.

What optical setup is recommended for the SkyEye62AM full-frame sensor?

Use a telescope and corrector that can provide a flat image circle of approximately 44mm or larger so the full-frame sensor is properly illuminated.

For the imaging train, wide-clear-aperture M48 or M54 connections and large-format filters such as 2-inch or 50mm filters are recommended. Undersized adapters, filter wheels, or filters can restrict the light path and introduce vignetting near the frame edges.

What is the cooling performance of the SkyEye62AM?

The SkyEye62AM uses a two-stage Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) system and can maintain a temperature differential of up to approximately 35°C below ambient temperature.

Actual cooling performance depends on ambient temperature, ventilation around the camera, the stability of the 12V 3A power supply, and the load from the optical-window heater. Keep the fan and airflow unobstructed for stable long-exposure operation.

What is the backfocus of the SkyEye62AM?

The SkyEye62AM provides two backfocus configurations:

  • 17.5mm with the detachable 5mm front adapter installed.
  • 12.5mm with the 5mm front adapter removed.

Use the selected configuration when calculating the total spacing for your corrector, filter wheel, off-axis guider, and other imaging-train components.
